Our Pedagogy

Our pedagogy is firmly rooted in the use of explicit instructional techniques. We encourage all parents to review the following documents to better understand the pedagogical approach employed at ATA. 
Our philosophy and model was shaped by a careful examination of student performance data. In the largest educational experiment ever conducted, the instructional model we use outperformed every other model. 25 years later the US Department of Education commissioned another meta-analysis that included 29 different approaches. Once again, the same model (Direct Instruction), showed the largest effect size and earned the Strongest Rate of Effectiveness designation. What we use works and it works well. We not only have 4 decades of efficacy data to back it up but we have our very own students whose progress with DI has been nothing short of spectacular.
