Summer Program

Robotics Camp (K - 5th)

Our robotics program is one of the best in the city. Students will learn basic computer programming using a language designed for children called Scratch. Scratch was developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and is being widely used by young programmers all over the world.  Our students build robotic cars using the Raspberry Pi as a controller. The Raspberry Pi is a credit card sized computer that will allow the children to work directly with real hardware and make hardware connections using a basic breadboard. They will enjoy building the body of their robotic cars with legos, and other plastic toys. Overall, in addition to learning a great deal, they have a blast working with hands on material and building everything themselves. The robotics camp is 4 weeks long and runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. All instruction is done in English and a healthy lunch is included. Before and after care is available. All materials needed for each child are included in the cost of the camp which is $1,195. Robotics will be offered at the Atlanta location only. Dates for the camp are June 1, 2015 - June 26, 2015. Space for the camp is limited and advanced registration is recommended.

Spanish Full Immersion Camp

During the months of June & July we offer month long language camps to allow students to experience full immersion for one month at a time. Each week there is a different theme that determines the activities for that week. Themes include:

  • Healthy Kids in Action: Fun Foods & Super Sports!
  • Science in Action: Experiment Expeditions!
  • Art in Action: World Art Expo!

Sample activities include show and tell, cultural games, hands on experiments and more! Each week the children enjoy Fiesta Friday's where there is water play and cultural presentations. If a summer trip to a Spanish speaking country isn't an option, ATA's immersion camp offers the next best thing. The camp is $1,195 per month and we accept students from age 1 through 4th grade. The camp runs from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. with before and after care provided at no additional charge. Space for the camp is limited and advanced registration is recommended.
